What’s your Roadmap for Increasing Book Sales?

The quantity of published authors has risen to new heights.What is the number one question facing authors today?What if nobody buys their book? With a little planning and advanced buzz, you can create a following that will buy your book. Let’s get people talking and sharing the news.

Start with getting others excited about your book well in advance of your book launch.

Let’s get people talking and sharing the news about your book with their friends, followers, and of course their family.

How do you do that? Why not build a dynamite book launch team to help you accomplish this while generating a following?

I know what you might be thinking now. If I don’t find a way to stand out, I won’t get sales?

There are tons of ways to standout.

  • For example, use social media.
  • create a video, or
  • write a blog.
  • Create a Book Launch Team
  • Ask others to share your media
  • Ask them to follow you
  • Set your book up for Pre-Sale on
    • KDP
    • Ingramspark
  • These are just a few examples…

If you do not know where to start when it comes to doing an epic book launch. That is why I have created The Wannabe Book Launch Series which is a combination of eBook and eCourse for multiple subjects related to marketing your book or for some, their books.

Let me share a few ideas with you from the original pilot program held in 2019…which was then titled, Wannabe Author to Bestselling Author Marketeer.

Create a Book Launch Team. The best way to do this find friends, family, book readers, book reviewers and influencers to become a part of your book Launch Team. I recommend a team that consists of 30 – 60 members. It will be really important for you to give each member only one aspect of your book launch, or they will most likely not participate.

Host a Launch Webinar with your Team. Weeks before your official publication date, it is time to start revving up the launch engine. Create a Lead magnet that offers a bonus for early purchases or as an incentive for doing an early book review. (see PDF on how to do a good book Review) Free chapter downloads are a proven strategy for building the buzz for your upcoming book. It does not have to be the first chapter. Pick one that hooks the reader.

There are a lot of moving parts in a successful book launch. In my opinion Email Marketing is KING. That said, the first aspect to creating an email marketing plan, you need a list. Create a Lead Magnet to garner a list of prospective customers. How to build a lead magnet that builds interest. Give something away for free. Build your audience, build your followers. People like free.

When you begin emailing to your list, make sure to Add a landing page to your emails. The Landing Page should take the perspective buyer to the pre-sale page and later with the actual link to the Amazon page.

Make the Interview Rounds.Start four to six  months prior to your book release. Research podcasts, blogs and other places for potential interviews. Just google it. There are tons of people looking for what you have to sell. Try creating a press release to send out, including headshots, book cover art, blurbs and testimonials, and let everyone know that you’re looking for interviews and guest posting opportunities.

Blog About It. You are your own best publicist; so, don’t be afraid to blow your horn on your blog, create an  email newsletter, and of course, be active on social media. Include images of your book cover, blurbs from advance readers, and give your audience plenty of time to get excited about your upcoming launch so that when the buy button finally goes up they’re eager to get a copy.

Boosted Posts. Facebook is another way to get eyes on your book. Paid ads leading to your launch page are can beideal, and can generate a lot of traffic for at a cost. Myself I try to advertise using facebook for fee with different posting ideas. Watch for my eCourse coming sometime this year, 2023“Let’s Create an Epic Facebook Strategy.”

Free Kindle Days. This technique alone can catapult your book to bestsellerdom in a matter of days. The key is to build up a buzz on your mailing list, share, share, share on social media, and ask your friends and colleagues to do the same.

Book marketing isn’t as easy as simply listing it on Amazon and becoming an instant bestseller. Anyone who tells you that is the exception to the rule. But that doesn’t mean selling your book is impossible either. With some strategic planning and a little effort, you can have a fantastic launch, whether it’s your first book or your fourteenth. No matter what method you use to reach out to others, use the following as a guideline:
